KPMG Rolls Out Claude to All 276,000 Staff in Anthropic's Biggest Enterprise Alliance Yet
KPMG and Anthropic announced a global alliance on May 19 putting Claude in front of every one of the Big Four firm's 276,000 employees and embedding Cowork and Managed Agents directly inside Digital Gateway, the platform KPMG uses to deliver client work.
Anthropic and KPMG announced a global alliance on Tuesday that puts Claude inside the day-to-day work of all 276,000+ KPMG employees and stitches Anthropic's Cowork and Managed Agents into KPMG Digital Gateway, the firm's primary client delivery platform. The deal, disclosed jointly on anthropic.com, is the largest single-firm rollout Anthropic has announced and gives the Big Four firm a way to ship agentic workflows to clients without flipping between separate tools.
The headline product is KPMG Digital Gateway Powered by Claude. It runs on Microsoft Azure and lets KPMG professionals build agents in natural language that clients can then run against their own data. Tax and legal are first in line: Rema Serafi, Vice Chair of Tax at KPMG US, said building an agent to help clients adapt to changing tax regulations "used to take weeks" and now "takes minutes" once Cowork and Managed Agents are wired into Digital Gateway.
The alliance also makes KPMG Anthropic's preferred consulting partner for private equity. A new offering called KPMG Blaze embeds Claude Code to help PE portfolio companies modernise legacy IT and roll out AI-driven products faster. Anthropic gets a long list of mid-market customers it would otherwise have to hunt one by one; KPMG gets a story to tell PE clients about productivity gains it can demonstrate inside its own books.
KPMG global chairman and CEO Bill Thomas framed the alliance as a shared commitment to responsible AI, with security, trust and governance leading the press release. That language matters: it is the same vocabulary regulators have started using in the wake of CAISI's pre-deployment evaluation agreements, and it gives risk-averse Fortune 500 buyers cover to deploy Claude at scale. The deal lands the same week Bloomberg and Fortune reported Anthropic is closing a fundraise near a $1 trillion valuation.
Implementation begins with Tax & Legal in the United States, with broader rollout across advisory services to follow. KPMG has been running Claude internally for roughly two years inside its US AI and Data Labs, so the staff-training problem is partly solved — what's new is the scale and the fact that client work product will now be generated through Claude-backed agents rather than alongside them. The alliance also stacks Anthropic alongside earlier deployments at PwC, giving Claude a foothold in two of the four largest professional-services networks in the world.
